What a Night to Remember

21 May 2026 · Pre-Launch Series 1

Pre-Launch Series 1: AI for SMEs

The evening opened with Prof. Wai Fong Boh sharing the vision behind NAAE, followed by Chairperson Susan Teh introducing the Executive Committee. Our three panellists — Louis Liu (Fomo Pay), Yu K. (Zillia Robotics), and Dr. Yip Jia Qi (Menlo Research) — delivered a candid, full-hour discussion on AI for SMEs, moderated by Hendri Zhang. The Q&A was sharp, the laughter was real, and the networking dinner ran well past 10pm.

"Success isn't measured by the number of events, attendees, or members. It's measured by the collaborations that cross borders, the start-ups that get funded and scale internationally, and the strength of the NTU entrepreneurial ecosystem we build together."

💬 Key Takeaway from the Audience

"Start with workflows, not tools." For SMEs, the first step isn't choosing which AI tool to use — it's identifying which workflow to redesign first. Start with lower-risk workflows, define the data boundary, and scale carefully into higher-risk areas only when governance is ready.
